We are passionate at Gobena about making a difference, and one way we do this is by providing great coffee for a great cause. Our coffee beans are purchased fresh and in season directly from the farmers. For example, as soon as our Colombian partner finishes the drying process for their coffee harvest, we import the dried green coffee beans. Upon their arrival, we small batch roast them to bring out their original flavor. This ensures that each bean's unique flavor notes are highlighted, as we believe in roasting each bean to its full potential.

We roast our coffee on a Joper Roaster, which has been manufacturing roasters since 1962 and combines the quality of the European Old World with the latest technology. Our coffee is roasted and packed on the same day to maintain its freshness. We are proud to provide quality beans that are fresh roasted to perfection.

All of our profits go towards helping orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. We partner with Lifesong for Orphans to support at-risk children and young adults. Our commitment to giving back started in Ethiopia in 2007, when Gobena and his wife rescued a baby girl who was abandoned near their home. They cared for her as best they could for over four weeks before realizing she needed more help. She was ultimately adopted by a loving family from Illinois, and this act of love inspired them to start Gobena Coffee, where 100% of the net profits are given to Lifesong for Orphans.
